Aw I remember recording TV shows and movies with my VCR and cases of blank tapes. I used to tape Dragon Ball Z and other shows from toonami back when the ORIGINAL Tom was holding shit down.

Don’t mean to make you feel old,
But this was essentially just before my time. I don’t remember having to record anything. I never even had a VCR. Went right to DVD.

I turned 25 recently.
Before that, a friend asked me how old I was turning.
“25...”
“So young...”
“_, you’re 5 months older than me.”
“Those 5 months make a difference”

I was the only one in the house who could figure out how to program the vcr to record both LA Law and Miami Vice.

I came along at Tom 2.0 or 3.0. Those were the days. It was always a major decision between watching Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. Now they both suck. (Ignoring the fact that I'm fast from the target audience)

Did you ever do the “hit pause button trick” during commercials breaks to edit out the commercials?

DBZ and Gundam Wing were my shit back in my grade school days. Did you have a standalone high-speed rewinder too? I remember that was a nice piece of kit.

My parents never bothered to learn how to work our fancy newer VCR after I burnt out our first VCR. Nostaligia below:
I had finally gotten a PlayStation a couple of years after it came out but my TV only had an RF connector. As I panicked I saw that my VCR has a Yellow and White connector on the back. I connected it there and about 20 mins later I was in action. That was me as a 7 year old fiddling around with no help and no internet! After a few months my VCR just died as I was playing crash bandicoot.

I don’t remember my second VCR other than it was a Panasonic but my first ever VCR was a Fisher I found pics of an identical one that I used to connect my PS1 (the og gray one) to because my tv only had RF:
